Multiple Crimson Tide Players on Watch Lists

Over the past few weeks, multiple Alabama Crimson Tide players have been named to preseason watch lists across the country.

Recently, the Outland Trophy and Bronko Nagurski Trophy announced their preseason watchlists for the awards.  

Alabama offensive lineman Evan Neal and defensive lineman Phidarian Mathis were named to the Outland Trophy Watchlist, which is awarded to the best interior lineman in college football.  

In addition to Neal and Mathis, six players were named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watchlist in Mathis, defensive tackle DJ Dale, linebackers Christian Harris and Will Anderson Jr., and defensive backs Malachi Moore and Josh Jobe.  

In 2020, Alex Leatherwood won the Outland Trophy, becoming Alabama’s sixth winner of the award. The only Alabama player to win the Bronko Nagurski Award was Jonathan Allen in 2016. In total, there are 13 Crimson Tide players and coaches that were included on watchlists for 11 different awards.  


Alabama’s season is set to kick off on Sep. 4 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Tide will play Miami in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. | TICKETS
